The American Omaha Beach cemetery
Sunday, 29 July 2018
For a change no sunshine today, but rain and wind all day. An excellent day to visit graveyards.
However, we started this morning with our usual breakfast with coffee, orange juice, yogurt, brique cheese, baguette and croissants.

We visted several graveyards: a British, an American and a German one.

On our way to the next graveyard we passed several hayfields

unlike at the British cemetery there are no names mentioned on the crosses here. All the names are engraved in a giant wall ranked by army unit and then alphabetic by name

The last war graveyard we visited was the German one, which is situated at La Cambe

We decided to have bites and drinks at our room this evening; some remaining white wine, cider with rillettes and a piece of our favourite cheese donated by James.

Prachtige foto's van een prachtige omgeving. Voelt alsof ik er weer ben!
