Normandy 2018 - DAY 01

Crandcamp de Maisy

Thursday, 26 July 2018:
Although our holiday to Italy is just 3 weeks ago, we decided to travel again because at this moment in our lifes we have no work and/or other obligations to worry about, sooo it's a perfect time to travel.
Normandy and Bretagny it will be.

Starting with a 4 nights stay in a Chateau in Normandy, which we booked upfront. The journey was relaxed and we had an interesting stop.
Some photos to illustrate:

ponte de Normandie

Stop at Honfleur, which has a lovely harbour, where the famous impressionist painters used to go in the 19th century. It's horrible hot here (as in Leiderdorp) over 30 degrees Celcius

We visited in Honfleur an exhibition of a photographer who travelled through Russia and made awesome photos, showing my favs

water ..... necessary with these temparatures

After checking into our home for the next 4 nights; the Chateau Vouilly (photos in tomorrow's blog post) we went to the nearby village of Grand Camp Maisy to have dinner. A lovely place near the sea with a photogenic harbour. Couldn't stop making photos.

We had dinner at restaurant La Trinquette. Of course I started with oysters, after all this is shell fish territory 😏

main courses: Peter had fish with a coquille and risotto, I had duck with pepper sauce and french frites

les desserts

After dinner we walked the harbour, great light to make photos, which I did 😏

Time to go to sleep. We opened the window to let in some cool air, and guess what .... it cooled down to about 17 degrees. We needed a blanket at 6 o'clock.

To be continued
