Good Friday procession that started at the church of San Gusme. All the streets it passed were lighted with candles. Impressive!

Hikes: a Deserted Village & Vinyards and Olive groves

Wednesday 17 April we went walking in the near neighbourhood of our Tuscan home to Montebenichi, a small (now) deserted village. I bet in summer it will be crowded but atm there wasn't a soul around only wild flowers, sunshine, wind and us

Sunshine, great sky and a lovely very 'Chianti hike' through vinyards, olive groves and more

we even found deer footprints on this trail, however didn't see any :-(

Tuesday 15 April: it's cold, raining (even hailstones) with a fierce wind soo driving around and visiting:

Montalcino (famous for it's Brunello wines) , the San Antimo cloister and the lovely city of Pienza.

But first breakfast, for the fist time not outside in the garden.

we tasted 2 high quality Brunello's in the tasting room of the castle at Montalcino

and had lunch afterwards with Bruchetta & a Brunello

After lunch and coffee we drove to the nearby cloister of San Antimo.

The last place we visited today was Pienza.
