Tuesday, 19 June 2018: revisiting Urbino
Years ago when visiting the palazzo ducale in Urbino for the first time it made an impression, we therefore wanted to revisited and have a better look at all the art inside this great place.

Federico da Montefeltro, duke of Urbino, was a renowned intellectual Humanist and civil leader in Urbino on top of his impeccable reputation for martial skill and honor, he commissioned the construction of a great library, perhaps the largest of Italy after the Vatican, with his own team of scribes in his scriptorium, and assembled around him a large humanistic court in the Ducal Palace of Urbino, designed by Luciano Laurana and Francesco di Giorgio Martini (info from Wikipedia)

The palazzo is loaded with art, I will show some photos we made:

After our extended visit to the palazzo, we had drinks and a bite in town and watched the newly graduated, celebrating and making lots of photos near the fountain at the central square.
When we were here last time, the graduated jumped into the fountain.

After a dip in the pool of our hotel, we had dinner at the neighbouring Osteria.
Great atmosphere with people from the village visiting the osteria and chatting.
The food was good and so was the wine.
We were surprised and had fun when the waitress placed the bottle of red wine we had ordered on our table with a corkscrew and left. Indicating we had to open the bottle ourselves.

help yourselves 😊
