Korea: barbed wire and Ojukheon

Zondag, 24 May 2015 - Whit Sunday -
It's warm today and after visiting a nearby harbor we opt to stay at a beach and go for a swim in the extremely cold water. Pfff we are tough Dutch so we have to live up to expectations :-)

barbed wire along the Korean East Coast, except for some beach areas

passing by and couldn't resist to make a photo of all these traffic signs. A nice lady told us they use this area for car driving lessons

Ojukheon: the birthplace of Sin Saimdang, who is looked upon as a paragon of Korean womanhood, is the oldest surviving Jaseon dynasty home. Shin Saimdang her likeness adorns the 50.000 Won banknote. Her son Yi Yulgok, who was a famous philosopher and government official his picture adorns the 5.000 Won banknote.
The museum that's located on the premises shows beautiful art and dresses.

The dishes we ordered at the restaurant of the hotel. No Korean food for us this evening. A pitty that Peter wasn't feeling very well and left the salmon salad almost untouched.
Also a picture of our room, with a fantastic bed (super after the too hard bed of the last 3 nites at Sokcho) and a photo of the 'wedding chappel' that's part of the hotel and situtated opposite. Koreans love coloured lights.
