Visiting Tilburg, the town where Peter was born and studied. A bit of shopping on Saturday afternoon, drinking beer at an outdoor cafe and in the evening having dinner at M&M. 
After returning to our B&B 'Loft 013', which is a large ground floor loft in the middle of town, we had a last drink at Stadscafe De Spaarbank, which is a really nice place with friendly people and nicely decorated in art deco style.

Dinner at M&M in the Reeshof. First course made by Maarten: tuna with sesame on a bed of lettuce. Brave moi: drinking Saskia mineral water ^^

Dionysiusstraat 

After breakfast at our B&B we went for a nostalgic walk in the neighbourhood where Peter lived during his childhood, as well as later on when he was studying in Tilburg. 

We started with the Dionysiusstraat (student house) where we walked around in the area and Peter came up with all kind of memories and noticed a lot had changed in the meantime.

Afterwards we drove to the Madeliefstraat, parked the car and looked at his former home where he lived with his family during his childhood. We also visited the houses of his grandparents (Hyacintstraat & Enschotsestraat) as well as his former elementary school 'Jan Ligthart'.

We ended our tour of former homes with his first students home a the Lovensestraat. 

The sun was shining and it promissed to be a lovely day. Hey it's winter only March. So we decided to go for a walk. But first we visited the farmhouse Peter had rented before he moved to 'the West'. We were lucky coz the present owner saw us and invited us in. Wow, he did a great job restoring the old farmhouse.

Peter found a nice walking track near Alphen NB, on estate 'de Hoeven'.

Saturday, 22 February 2014: 

On tour with my new Renault Captur, but first refueling (first time)

Villa BBB in Oosterhout revisted for the 3rd time. 

We occupied the suite Bank again coz it's soooooooo nice 

Also revisted BUT this time with a brand new name Restaurant By Pascal (fka as Restaurant Bling) in Oosterhout. Wow, it was SUPER! 

On the picture above the several 'Amuses' that were a purrfect start of our dinner.

Visiting Klundert a former fortified city 'Vestingstad'

Willemstad another fortified city, which is very well conserved and attracts loads of tourists in Summer. It's location at the mouth of Hollands Diep makes it strategical important. More info about Willemstad.

We made a detour when going home visiting the Maasvlakte 2, near Rotterdam, which is new land reclaimed from the sea. Awesome and soo impressive. There was a fierce wind so not really 'beach weather', but we enjoyed and were impressed.

Zeeland (with Roos & Henri) - February 2014

Last weekend 15-16 February 2014 we visited our friends Roos & Henri in Zeeland. We stayed in a holiday house near Renesse West, which belongs to friends of Henri & Roos. Cute, lovely wooden house decorated in seventies style. Fun. 

We had dinner at hostellerie Schuddebeurs, where the food was good but definitely not the waiter. 

The next day after a superb healthy breakfast made by Roos, we went for a walk to the seashore. Blue sky and sunshine what more can you wish...

Returning to the house we sat in the sun for a while before we left to visit Zierikzee. Wow, what a lovely town.

We had sort of late lunch there before we reluctantly left Zeeland and drove home.

A lovely weekend!

Hostellerie Schuddebeurs: good food, expensive AND moreover an impolite, rigid and appalling waiter, who thought he was funny, but wasn't AT ALL: yak, yak, yak. Not the guy on the photo btw, he was ok. A reason for me not to (re)visit the place.
