Montalcino (famous for it's Brunello wines) , the San Antimo cloister and the lovely city of Pienza.

Tuscany holiday continued; Monday 14 tasting, Crete and dinner at Barone di Ferro

Monday 14 April 2014

Lovely weather so we stayed in the garden leisuring, having breakfast, lunch and reading our ebooks.
Late afternoon we went to the wine tasting of the estate where we live 'Tenuta di Arceno' and bought several bottles of excellent Chianti Classico reserva.

Afterwards when the light was good (after 18 hrs) we visited the Crete: wonderful views of green hills.

We decided to go for dinner at 'our village' San Gusme. We had a lovely Tuscan dinner at Barone di Ferro.

San Donato; a house in Tuscany (near Siena)

Staying in an awesome place called San Donato (near Siena) from 10 - 21 April 2014

Thursday & Friday, 10 & 11 April 2014
Our flight was smooth and we had a clear view on the Alps.
After arrival at Pisa Airport we collected our rented car a Fiat 500L, which btw isn't small at all. We drove to our rented home near the small town of San Gusme and larger town Castelnuovo Berardenga.

San Donato is a very authentic (part of a) farmhouse and has a super large lovely garden, a very equipped kitchen, a room with an open fire place (yeah!), 2 bedrooms and 3 (!) bathrooms (no idea why).
Some photos of our home for the coming days:
